Welcome to my online presentation of www.Monster.ca. For those of you who don't know, Monster.ca is one of the fastest growing employment search engines on the internet. It is designed for you, a job seeker, to use their online resources in order to locate potential employment opportunites.The website provides many options to help customize your Monster Account. I will go through many of these options to help make your visit to Monster.ca a lot simpler and a lot faster. Enjoy!


Registering Your Account

Registering is quick and easy. Here, we've broken down the process into a few easy steps.

Step 1: Go to www.Monster.ca

Step 2: Click on My Monster Login

Step 3: Click on Create Your Free Account Now! and follow the instructions


Searching For Jobs

Searching for jobs does not require you to have an account.

Step One: Click Search Jobs

Step Two: Type in keywords into the Keyword Search

Step Three: Select Location (location of employment) and Category (type of employment)

Step Four: Click Get Results

Note: It is not necessary to choose a specific location and category, this option can be used to help narrow your search.


What Is My Monster?

My Monster allows those with an account access to a variety of different features. Those features include:

  • Account Profile: Allows you to access/edit your Monster Account personal information (E.g. Name, Address, E-mail, etc ...).
  • Agents: Allows you to enter the "type of job you're looking for, and [it] will search around the clock" for employment opportunities according to the criteria you enter. The Job Agent will send you e-mail notification when a job has been found.
  • Applications: Allows you to keep track of your Job Application History. It sorts your application history by Date, Job Title and Company. It will delete your application history 18months from the application date.
  • Resumes: Allows you to create an online Resume (up to 5 different resumes), or you can "upload" a resume from your computer. Once you have created a resume, you can Edit, Delete or View your resume at any time.
  • Letters: Allows you to create an online Cover Letter (up to 5 different cover letters). Monster.ca offers online tips to writing cover letters on their Career Centre .

  • Career Centre

    Career Centre is a section of Monster.ca designed to give you the tools to succeed,including:

  • What Do I Want To Be?:
    • Allows you to: Look at Job Descriptions, Go to Self-Assessment Centre, Go to Major Career Converter. You can also discover the perfect job for you by taking the Monster.ca Perfect Career Quiz. Finally, you can check out careers that are Off The Beaten Path.
  • Get The Job:
    • Allows you to: Create a Resume (you can do this yourself OR have it written by an expert), Cover Letter, post your resume, search for jobs, go to the Interview Centre.
  • Survive and Advance
    • Allows you to: visit the Salary Centre, get free Legal Advice, and to keep your Work/Life in balance.
  • Take A Break
    • Allows you to: play the Monster Match Game, and read your Career Horoscope. Also, you can visit the Monster Forum, and read 100 things to do if you've been laid off.
